Overview
The Inflation Rate module shows the year-on-year (YoY) percentage change in the Consumer Price Index — the headline inflation rate — for each IGAD country.
Relevance to Food Security
High general inflation erodes household purchasing power, reducing the ability to buy food even when it is physically available in markets. High inflation is often accompanied by currency depreciation.
