Crop Yield Estimates

FAO FAOSTAT crop production data showing area harvested, yield, and production volumes by crop and country.

Overview

The Crop Yield module provides annual estimates of crop production for key staple and cash crops across IGAD countries. Data is sourced from the FAO FAOSTAT database.

Key Metrics

  • Area Harvested — Hectares of land harvested for a given crop and year.
  • Yield — Tonnes per hectare (t/ha).
  • Production — Total tonnes harvested.

Filters

Filter by country, crop item, and year. The chart view shows multi-year trends. The table provides precise values for comparison.

Data Collection

Interpretation

Yield below the 5-year average, especially following poor in-season rainfall and adverse NDVI, is a primary driver of supply-side food insecurity. Cross-reference with food price data to assess the full impact on food access.
