Global Acute Malnutrition (GAM) Admissions

Monthly SAM and GAM therapeutic feeding programme admission data by country and administrative unit.

Overview

Global Acute Malnutrition (GAM) admissions data tracks the number of children aged 6–59 months admitted to Outpatient Therapeutic Programmes (OTP) or Supplementary Feeding Programmes (SFP). This is a key proxy indicator for acute food insecurity and nutritional crisis.

Interpretation

Rising GAM admission trends combined with deteriorating food security (IPC Phase 3+) and poor rainfall are strong indicators of an emerging nutritional emergency requiring humanitarian response.
